Role: Senior Electrical Design (Hardware) Engineer ⚡
Join a growing company creating a new Engineering team focused on innovative products and systems as a Senior Digital Hardware Engineer. Design, develop, and improve digital hardware used in embedded control platforms in a role that blends hands-on circuit and PCB design with cross-functional collaboration, rigorous verification, and clear documentation. This is a KEY CONTRIBUTOR role with opportunity to move into leadership, where you'll be part of meetings with the leadership team including the President to understand company goals, prioritize projects, define KPIs, and discuss customer needs. Work on creating new products in addition to improving existing products—sheet metal enclosures with electrical and electronic systems inside for custom made-to-order assembly. Be hands-on, spending time on the plant floor helping to solve assembly and quality problems while delivering reliable, production-ready hardware that meets specification, safety, and quality standards.
Requirements: 🎓
✅ Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or Computer Engineering
✅ 10+ years of electrical engineering experience with focus on digital circuits
✅ Familiarity with analog circuits and power electronics preferred
✅ Expertise in digital logic, embedded microcontrollers, and internal serial communications (SPI, I²C, UART)
✅ Experience with external communications (Ethernet, RS-232, RS-485) and protection in harsh environments
✅ Proficiency with integrated design tools (e.g., Altium) for schematic and PCB layout
✅ Experience creating and updating schematics and PCBs for embedded digital control systems
✅ Component selection, design for manufacture (DFM), and design for test (DFT) expertise
✅ Experience with microcontroller I/O, logic-level signal conditioning, and serial communication buses
✅ Board-level validation, functional testing, and environmental/EMC pre-compliance experience
✅ Knowledge of circuit simulation tools (Plexim, Simulink, LTspice) preferred
✅ Knowledge of FPGA/CPLD development and HDL (VHDL, Verilog) preferred
✅ Knowledge of IPC-610, UL/CSA, and related compliance standards preferred
✅ Hands-on approach with willingness to work on plant floor solving assembly and quality issues
