Role: Geo-Structural Engineer (PE/SE) ποΈ
Join a dynamic engineering team in Alaska's beautiful Mat-Su Valley as a Geo-Structural Engineer where you'll use in-depth geotechnical knowledge combined with advanced structural expertise to provide complete foundation and structural designs for telecommunications infrastructure and beyond. Apply critical and creative thinking to develop innovative designs suited for Alaska's extreme environments and remote construction challenges, working on tower foundations, equipment support frames, communications shelters, solar arrays, and specialized structures. Collaborate closely with a multi-disciplinary team of engineers and construction professionals to create cohesive engineering reports and construction packages while mentoring junior engineers. This unique position offers the opportunity to conduct site visits across Alaska's stunning landscapes, develop feasibility studies and structural analysis reports, and establish lasting relationships with diverse stakeholders including clients, vendors, and government regulators in one of America's most extraordinary engineering environments.
Requirements: π
β
MUST be licensed by the State of Alaska as a Professional Civil Engineer (CE) or Structural Engineer (SE)
β
Licensed Structural Engineer (SE) strongly preferred
β
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering
β
2+ years of design experience after licensure preferred
β
Foundation design experience in permafrost, rock, and conventional soils using piles, rock anchors, and reinforced concrete
β
Design experience using steel, aluminum, wood, and concrete materials
β
Familiar with AutoCAD drafting procedures and able to communicate effectively with CAD technicians
β
Experienced with standard construction practices and national building codes including OSHA, IBC, ASCE 7, NDS, and ACI 318
β
Experience with TIA 222 telecommunications standards preferred
β
Proficient with MS Excel, MS Word, Teams, and Outlook
β
Experience with Bluebeam, AutoCAD, Mathcad, Enercalc, Hilti/Simpson Anchor Design Software, and RISA3D preferred
β
Highly articulate with ability to deliver verbal and written technical reports
β
Detail-oriented with strong desire for excellence
β
Valid driver's license required
β
Available and able to travel for site visits (up to 15% of time)
